Our client, a global manufacturing company, is looking for a Senior Legal Advisor who will report to the Chief Legal Counsel; providing legal support to the business.
Education/Certification Required:
- Degree in Law
- Admission as an Attorney
Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years of experience practicing at a law firm plus 5 to 7 years in-house legal counsel experience (strong contract drafting, vetting and interpretation skills required)
- Experience in supply chain and employment law
- Experienced in MS Office Suite
- SAP and M-Files Experience advantageous
Key Performance Areas:
- Anticipate issues and estimate risks
- Identify proactive solutions to mitigate risks and enhance current processes and/or create new processes
- Deal with external parties (such as regulators, external counsel, clients, advocates)
- Review Supplier Agreements
- Keep abreast of legislative changes and monitor compliance with statutory obligations
- Legal Research and Presentations
- Preparing affidavits, legal correspondence and other documents
- Organizing and maintaining documents in an electronic filing system
- Drafting, reviewing and scrutinizing general commercial agreements
- Draft and convey legal opinions on specific legal issues
- Directing and coordinating law office activity
- Review and maintain all company standard agreements
- Participate in the development of corporate policies, procedures and programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on all legal matters
