Our client, an international trade, logistics and distribution company, is currently looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their busy team.
Education and Experience Required:
- CA(SA)
- Drafting IFRS annual Financial Statements
- Drafting monthly management accounts
- Drafting income tax (current and Deferred tax) calculation
- eFiling submissions
- Analysing transactions and data in excel
- Strong accounting, tax and audit background
Key Attributes:
- Logistics and distribution background is beneficial
- Ability to work under light supervision, self motivated
- Good communicator and able to work under pressure with strict deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Ability to question and bring solutions to the table
- An approachable and pleasant personality
- Fast learner
Responsibilities:
Accounting
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile certain entries as
• Produce error-free accounting reports
• Analyse financial information and summarize financial status
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Support month-end and year-end close process
Reporting and Standards
• Provide technical support and advice on accounting treatments
• Ensure compliance with Group Valuation Policies and IFRS
• Assist with queries from group reporting
• Prepare information required for group reporting
External Reporting and and compliance
• Prepare annual IFRS financial statements and answer queries
• Prepare first draft tax returns and estimations
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Direct external audits to ensure compliance
Financial Planning and Management
• Participate in the budgeting and forecast process
• Manage the financial accountant
