Our client, a South African favourite, is looking for a qualified Divisional Retail Operations Executive to join their team. Do you have what it takes?
 
Job Purpose:
To grow merchandising profitability, sales, and our merchandising market share through providing an effective and efficient merchandising consulting service to our vendors by leading and managing our merchandising operations department in order to optimise the performance of existing stores and the development of new stores.
 
Key Performance Areas: PERFORMANCE AREAS
    • Manage and lead the retail operations department
    • Provide leadership to vendors in new business development, store development and current merchandising management best operating practices
    • Participate in the general management of the division as part of the executive team
    • Facilitate the development and implementation of a divisional merchandising operations strategic plan in support of the divisional and national merchandising operations strategy and objectives
    • Implement appropriate interventions aimed at ensuring our vendors are relevant and competitive in the market
    • Aggressively drive sales in new and existing stores while ensuring profitability is achieved
    • Create a culture of continuous improvement and staff development
    • Build and manage strong vendor relationships and be flexible and responsive to customer needs
 
The Person:
    • Minimum five years’ senior management experience in retail operations
    • Ability to develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with vendors and other relevant stakeholders
    • Excellent business acumen and operational financial skills
    • Personal characteristics: high energy, self-starter, collaborative
    • Personal values: honesty, integrity and reliability
    • Track record of meeting operational objectives and customer expectations
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and conflict management skills
    • Ability to listen, consult, motivate, encourage, and influence others
    • Knowledge of local retail property market advantageous
    • Business related tertiary qualification advantageous
    • Completion of SLDP advantageous
